Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library

This library takes its name from Dr. Cheng Yu-tung who in 1987 donated $1.5million dollars for the expansion and renovation of a new East Asian Library. Funds were also received from the Commemorative Association for the Japan World Exposition (1970).

Work to expand space and improve library facilities was completed in the spring of 1991. The library was renamed in honour of Dr. Cheng at that time.

Prior to Dr. Cheng's donation, the history of the library goes back to 1933. 

In 2005 LG Electronics donated  funds to endow the collection of Korean electronic resources.
