Donations: Books or Journals
The cost of books, journals, and electronic resources continues to strain the Library's ability to maintain acquisitions and subscriptions.
Your donations can change this.
By donating the cost of a journal subscription for at least three years you can ensure the library will continue its subscription into the future.
- The journal will be bound and maintained
- The library can bill you annually for the subscription cost
- You can suggest individual journal titles or donate to a subject area
- Electronic subscriptions can also be supported
- To donate a journal, print and submit this Adopt a Journal form (pdf)
By donating to the acquisition of books you can celebrate a special person or occasion, or acknowledge an accomplishment, or provide a memorial tribute to someone, or contribute to the preservation of our existing collection.
- Book plates will be placed in each book
- $50.00 funds the purchase of one book
- $300 preserves a vulnerable book
- Electronic books are also an option
- To start the process, print and mail the Honour with Books form (pdf)
Donations of actual books are welcome. Books may either
- be added to the collection; see more information on the Gifts page from the Collection Development Department
- be donated for resale via the Library Book Room on the main floor of Robarts; see more information on the Library Book Room via the Get Involved section of this page
Tax receipts will be provided when appropriate.
