The Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library is internationally recognized as a leading centre for rare books, manuscripts, special collections, and the University Archives. Collection development and management, patron relations, and extensive collaboration with the scholarly community are all parts of this unique position.
Library Curator of the Jewish Studies Collection
This endowed position will provide high levels of access, research assistance, interpretation, and collection building needed to serve the research community and reconstitute and build the record of Jewish cultural heritage.
Jewish studies at the University of Toronto is in a state of phenomenal growth. Recent additions to the collections include the internationally renowned Friedberg collection of rare Hebraic and the Rabbi Price collection of rabbinics.
Curator for Islamic Studies
To support teaching, research, and scholarship in the field of Islamic studies at the University of Toronto, the U of T Library plans to endow and name a Curatorship in Islamic Studies. To this end, the University is seeking a donation of CDN $2 million in private funds which will be endowed to ensure a curator for the collection who will be highly specialized in the subject matter, relevant languages, and professional library and curatorial standards.
